I came to the firm after settling an Employment related lawsuit and needed guidance on how to manage the financial aspects moving forward. Bryce was exceptional, professional, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. He explained every step clearly, answered all my questions with patience, and created detailed, easy-to-understand spreadsheets that helped me build a solid plan for my family’s future. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better financial advisor to guide me through the process. I highly recommend them.

I reached out to Amicus before signing my settlement agreement and it was one of the smartest things I did. I emailed them on a Saturday and was on the phone with them by Monday. This means everything when time is of the essence. They were responsive, knowledgeable, and patient. Bryce explained things to me in detail. Their expertise helped me execute a smart tax strategy for my settlement. Thank you, Bryce & team!

Frequently asked questions

Is my settlement taxable?
It depends on the type of case. Personal physical injury settlements are generally tax-free under Section 104(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. Most other settlements — discrimination, whistleblower, contract disputes, and more — are taxable income, and in many cases you can be taxed on the entire gross settlement, including the part paid to your attorney.
How accurate is this estimate?
The calculator uses simplified assumptions (top federal and state tax rates, a standard annuity return) to give you a useful high-level picture — it is not a tax return calculation. For a precise analysis of your situation, book a free call for a Customized Tax Analysis.
What is a structured settlement annuity?
Instead of one lump sum, your settlement is paid out over several years. Depending on your case type, that can mean tax-free growth (personal injury) or lower tax brackets on each payment (taxable settlements), plus guaranteed, predictable income.
What happens after I get my results?
Your results appear instantly and we email you a copy. If you want to explore your options, book a free 15-minute call — we’ll prepare a Customized Tax Analysis for your case. There is no obligation.
Will you share my information?
No. Your information is used only to provide your results and follow up about your settlement tax questions. We never sell or share your email or phone number.
